Weekly Busy Moms Interview with Randi Norton

Hey all you busy moms! Welcome to the next installment of my weekly series on busy moms! I think we learn best from others so I wanted to start sharing weekly interviews with moms just like you, BUSY MOMS! I am so excited to introduce to you to Randi! Welcome, Randi Norton, Keto Coach and mom. So tell everyone where you are from and how many kids do you have? I’m from Hudson Falls, NY and I have 2 kids -1 boy and 1 girl. Tell me a little about yourself Randi. I have always known I wanted to be a mom and have my own business.  Just never knew what kind of business.  Network Marketing was an easy business to slide into without a huge commitment and I am able to be the mom I always wanted to be. Why Modeling Self Care is So Important

There are so many reasons why self care is important, but one that I touch on a lot, is how it is important to model self care for our children. If we do not show our children how we take care of ourselves, how will they learn. Our kids are learning from us how to be busy, stressed and overwhelmed. Parents want to teach their children how to self soothe, so why shouldn’t teaching them how to take care of themselves mind, body and soul be as important? I know that my daughter is watching my every move (that can be a good thing and a VERY bad thing lol). She talks like me and acts like me on many different occassions. I can already tell how she picks up on my mindset issues and my beliefs. This weekend was a great reminder of how my words and actions are…

What Does Balance Look Like to You?

(Note from Jess: This blog post is from last year (2018) from my old website. My life is much more balanced now, especially as I have continued to focus on self care. I have made a lot of changes in my life and you can too!) What does balance look like to you? Does balance look like you staying at home with your kids full-time? Or is it you working part-time? Maybe it’s working from home part of the time and at the office part of the time. Maybe it’s having a side hustle. Or maybe it’s something all together different. Only you and your family can define what balance looks like to you. And it’s going to look different in each season of life. My life has looked very different over the years of being a mother.  I was fortunate enough to stay at home with my daughter for…

50 Self-Care Ideas for the Busy Mom

So one question I always get it what can I do to take care of myself?  And, I can’t think of any self-care ideas. The ideas are limitless if you are creative.  More important than what you do during your “me time” is how it makes you feel.  If you are not a bath girl, then taking a bath is NOT going to make you feel relaxed.  Don’t do things that you don’t enjoy just for the sake of self-care.  Unless, it is things like going to the doctor and dentist, drinking enough water, moving your body in some way and eating a balanced diet.  Those things are very important but are going to vary from person to person.  The whole point is to schedule activities in your life that make you feel refreshed and recharged.  I could scroll through Facebook for every spare minute that I have and I…

Self Care for Coparenting Moms -Because You Deserve It

Coparenting your children is hard.  I’ve done it for about 6 years now and it has definitely had its ups and downs.  Most people don’t go into parenting thinking that they will have to split time with their kids, but it happens.  I’ve come to a point in my life that I accept it for what it is and try to make the best of it.  My daughter loves her dad and I want them to spend time together.  It is very important to me that he plays a big role in her life.  I would never keep her away from him and encourage regular time together.  We have the very traditional every other weekend set up and it works for us.  We live about an hour apart so during the school year it would be hard for us to do more than that.  But during breaks from school and the…
